The Rossland Light Opera Players applied for and received a grant from the Heritage Legacy Fund of BC to assist in the re-painting and restoration of the exterior of the RLOP building in Rossland. Ken Turner of Rossland Paintworks has been contracted to do the work. Most of the work has been completed. Some restoration work on the bottom of the front wall has yet to be completed by Tom and Sue Buckley. A marquis box for the display of coming attractions is being built and will be installed on the outside of the building. Ken has restored the RLOP sign and jester and has put back the Bodega hotel sign to indicate the building’s heritage.
The Heritage Legacy Fund is sending a banner to publicize their participation in the project.
Although not part of the re-painting project, Janis Anderson is redecorating the display window to coordinate with the rest of the building.
